The New Lenox Community Park district is proud to serve approximately 57,000 New Lenox and surrounding park district boundary residents.  In order to serve this community, a strong group of dedicated individuals consisting of five park board commissioners and a hard-working staff including 25 full-time and over 200 part-time employees.

The development of park facilities throughout our community steadily continues as the population of New Lenox grows.  Since 1980, the New Lenox Community Park District has teamed up with the State of Illinois through the Department of Natural Resources to preserve and develop 82.7 acres of rapidly disappearing open space in Will County.  The New Lenox Community Park District has been awarded since 1980, $1,689,832 to help complete $2,689,495 in development projects.  Currently, our parks/maintenance department maintains and administers to over 36 park sites and the amenities they contain.

The park district’s programming options for its residents continues to grow with each seasonal catalog; now offering over 300 different educational programs, athletics, fitness, special events, sport leagues, as well as travel excursions.  This myriad of programs is highlighted in each of their program catalogs which are mailed directly to over 15,000 residents three times per year; Winter/Spring, Summer, and Fall.  With the wide range of programming offered, the New Lenox Park District strives to ensure recreational fun and activities for all ages.

In addition, the New Lenox Park District’s Sanctuary Golf Course; an 18-hole championship golf course, which is located on Marley Road, continues to attract even the most seasoned golfers.  As a quality golf course, with four sets of tees, The Sanctuary provides a challenge for all skills levels.  The “links style” feel of the course features bent grass greens, tees, and fairways featuring light to heavy fescue rough areas.    Seventy-five bunkers dot the course and water hazards come into play on eleven different holes.  Along with 18 superbly conditioned holes of golf, The Sanctuary has an excellent bent grass practice range and short game area, full-service golf shop and great food and beverage offerings in The Bunker Bar & Grill.  For those golfers looking for a higher level of service and a challenging golfing experience at a great price, there are few choices better than The Sanctuary.  Please visit their website at www.golfsanctuary.com where you can book your tee time directly online.
