Chief
Bob Sterba
The department administrators, under the guidance of the Chief of Police, are responsible for a wide variety of tasks devoted to managing the New Lenox Police Department. Their purpose is to maintain a high level of leadership and support within the department and the community. They are accountable for executing the mission of the New Lenox Police Department, as well as carrying out its goals and objectives. The department is currently staffed by two Deputy Chief and a Division Chief whose responsibilities are as follows:
Deputy Chief April Di Sandro
April Di Sandro is a long serving member of the New Lenox Police Department during which she has served in many capacities including Patrol Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Commander and is currently the Deputy Chief of Operations.
Deputy Chief Di Sandro is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command at which time she was the honored recipient of the prestigious Kreml Award which reflects her high standing in the law enforcement community. April is a lifelong resident of New Lenox where she resides with her husband and five children. |

Deputy Chief Robert Pawlisz
Robert Pawlisz has been a member of the New Lenox Police Department since 1994. Robert has served in numerous capacities; as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division, Juvenile Officer, Liquor Commission Liaison, Bicycle Patrol Officer, Investigator, a member of the Will County Gang Unit and is currently the Deputy Chief of Administration.
Deputy Chief Pawlisz is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Robert resides in New Lenox with his wife and two children. |

Public Safety Division Chief Daniel Martin
Daniel Martin began his law enforcement career in 1986 and has served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander and Chief of Police. Martin currently serves the village as the Public Safety Division Chief.
Public Safety Division Chief Martin is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command. Martin earned a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis University. Martin resides in New Lenox with his wife and two children. |
