Chief
Bob Sterba
The
members of the Administrative Division, under the direction
of the Chief of Police, are responsible for a wide variety
of tasks devoted to administratively supporting the
mission of the New Lenox Police Department. The
purpose of this Division is to maintain a high level
of leadership, management and administrative support,
both within the department, and the community as a whole.
These dedicated professionals are responsible for executing
the mission of the New Lenox Police Department, as well
as carrying out the goals and objectives of the department,
as defined by the Chief annually. Many activities
performed by the administrative staff support the fiscal
and budgetary requirements of the department. They are
responsible for running the various Divisions within
the police department, including personnel activities
and records management. If you wish to contact

Division is currently staffed by three full-time Commanders,
whose responsibilities are as follows:
Field Operations Commander
Commander Dennis Klier is a twenty-year
veteran of the law enforcement field. As the Commander
of Field Operations, he is responsible for running the
day-to-day operations of the Patrol Division of the New
Lenox Police Department. In addition, he provides
support and direction for the management of equipment
(fleet and uniforms) and personnel services, such as
payroll and scheduling. Commander Klier is the
coordinator of the New Lenox ESDA (Emergency Services
and Disaster Agency) Unit, and facilitates all of the
training the officers and employees of the police department
receive. He is also responsible for the department’s
Field Training Program and the utilization of ILEAS.
Investigative & Support Services
Commander
Commander Robert Pawlisz is
a fifteen-year veteran of the law
enforcement field. As
the Investigative and Support Services Commander, he
is responsible for running the day-to-day operations
of the Investigative Division and Community Policing
Division of the New Lenox Police Department. In
addition, Commander Pawlisz is responsible for managing
a number of specialized areas within the police department,
including the, ATV Unit, Motorcycle Unit, Bicycle Unit,
and the Juvenile Division. He is also tasked
with overseeing the Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance
Checks, the Asset Seizure and Forfeiture Program, as
well as Sex Offender Registration and Compliance. Commander
Pawlisz coordinates the yearly departmental budget
and is the Critical Reach Coordinator.
Administrative Services Commander
Commander April Di Sandro is
a seventeen-year veteran of the New Lenox Police Department. As
the Administrative Services Commander, she is responsible
for the recording, managing, and safe-keeping of all
records and documents produced within our department. Commander
Di Sandro is also responsible for the review and evaluation
of reports, and, when necessary, their forwarding to
the different divisions responsible for follow-up. In
addition, she is tasked with processing all subpoenas
served on the New Lenox Police Department, and conducting
internal affairs investigations. Commander Di
Sandro supervises the local Magistrate Program (MSI)
and coordinates the appeals process, when necessary. She
also manages the Administrative Towing Fee Program,
and serves as the initial hearing officer for any traffic
compliance issues. She is also tasked with coordinating
the department’s IWIN, LRMS, and LEADS services
with their respective agencies.
