Records Division |
The Records Division is under the supervision
of Commander
April Di Sandro and is staffed by one Administrative
Assistant and three Police Service Specialists.
These personnel provide support service to the Department,
the community and other agencies.
The
Records Division is responsible for the processing,
distribution and retention of all police related documents
within the department. They are also responsible
for reporting of crime statistics at both state and
federal levels. Division personnel respond to
requests from the public, department members and court
personnel by providing them reports and information.
They are knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas involving
police issues, laws and local ordinances.
Records personnel are also responsible for the issuance
of various permits. Permits issued by this division
are Use
of Public Rights of Way, Solicitors,
and Parades,
Marches, Procession, Foot/Bicycle Races. Click on

625 ILCS 5/11-1006 requires that organizations applying
for Use
of Public Rights of Way must be registered with
the Illinois
Attorney General as a charitable organization.
The Village requires proof of this registration which
the charitable organization must provide with a letter
of “good standing” from the Attorney General’s
Office upon application.
Citizens that want to obtain copies of reports and/or
data maintained by the police department may request
the information from the Records Division during office
hours of Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00
p.m.
The fee for copies of an Illinois Motorist Crash Report
is $5.00.
All other reports require a Freedom
of Information Request (F.O.I.A.) form to be
completed. This request takes seven business days
to be fulfilled. All reports (excluding crash
reports) must be picked up in person by the requestor
with proper photo identification. All requests
filled under F.O.I.A. will be charged at a rate of $.07
per page.
