Programs in Place to Handle E-Waste
The Illinois Electronic Product Recycling and Reduce Act went into effect on January 1, 2012. This law bans all
electronics from going into landfills since these products contain hazardous material. Therefore NuWay will
no longer pick up the following items: Televisions, monitors, printers, computers, electronic keyboards, fax
machines, videocassette recorders, portable digital music players, video game consoles, servers, scanners,
electronic mice, digital converter boxes, cable receivers, satellite receivers, and digital video disc recorders.
To accommodate residents who wish to dispose of the aforementioned, Will County has contracted with Vintage
Tech Recyclers that will pick-up e-waste from residents for no-charge. Residents may call (866) 631-1707,
Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to schedule a pick up. Residents may also email:
willcounty@vintagetechrecyclers.com
to schedule a pick-up. Please include your name, address and telephone
number as well as the type and number of each electronic item.
There is a limit of ten items per collection. If you accumulate more items, additional pick-ups may be
scheduled at that time.
New Lenox Township Office is also a Will County e-waste recycling drop off site. Residents can bring
their unwanted e-waste items to the New Lenox Township office for recycling.
