Water Main Breaks:
Should
you suspect a possible water main break, please call
the Public Works Department at 815-462-6480 during normal
working hours, or notify the Police Department at 815-485-2500
when the Village Hall is closed.
Deduct Meter
A deduct meter is an optional meter that measures the amount of water used for such things as lawn irrigation. The water used
does not discharge into the sanitary sewer system. The water measurement of a deduct meter shall deduct from the consumer's
SEWER USAGE ONLY. Although the consumer will be billed for ALL water use, the sewer charges will only applied to water
used inside the home thus reducing the cost to the consumer. Deduct meters are available at the Village Hall.
Requests for a “deduct meter” must be made in writing, and the user is responsible for all costs subject to said meter and its
installation. The current cost of a “deduct meter” is $269.00. The cost is subject to change without notice.
Water Main Flushing
In
an attempt to keep the system free of hardness, a hydrant
flushing program is conducted throughout the Village
twice a year. However, at times residents may
experience more problems with rust than others.
The Village supplies residents with a free box of "Iron
Out" at times when they are experiencing such problems.
