Everyone in attendance will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win some great stuff.

The training will focus on community weather awareness and preparedness, to include:

  • Where to monitor and get trustworthy weather information
  • How to be prepared for typical spring and summertime hazardous weather
  • Provide context to recent severe weather events in the local area (forecast information leading up to the event, behind the scenes look into the science of the event, impacts of the event, etc…).
  • How to get involved in reporting severe weather

This program is perfect for students, parents, scouting groups, amateur radio operators, emergency services, public works, police, fire, schools and anyone else wishing to learn about severe weather.

Special thanks to Lincoln-Way Community High School District #210 and Lincoln-Way WEST High School for hosting.  In addition, special thanks to the National Weather Service Chicago Office for offering this training.
