The Village of New Lenox is proud to announce the promotion of Deputy Chief Micah Nuesse to the position of Chief of Police. Chief Nuesse brings 19 years of service with the New Lenox Police Department to his new role, including five years as Deputy Chief.
Throughout his time with the department, Chief Nuesse has served in a variety of roles—field training officer, detective, SWAT team member, and department-wide trainer. In 2017, he was promoted to Detective Sergeant, and in 2020, he was sworn in as Deputy Chief. He has continued to grow in his profession, earning his graduate degree in Administration of Justice and Security, graduating from the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command in 2018, and the FBI National Academy in 2024.
Promoted up to the newly vacant position of Deputy Chief is Detective Sergeant Brandon Tilton. Deputy Chief Tilton was hired by the New Lenox Police Department in 2015 after three years with the South Chicago Heights Police Department. He has held numerous roles with New Lenox, including patrolman, detective, SWAT team member, field training officer, department training instructor, firearms instructor, patrol sergeant, and investigations sergeant.
These promotions follow the retirement of Police Chief Louis Alessandrini, who served the New Lenox Police Department for 20 years, five of those years in the role of Chief, following ten years of service in Chicago Heights. Mayor Baldermann and the Village Board of Trustees are grateful to Chief Alessandrini for his many years of dedicated service and wish him all the best in his retirement. The Mayor and Village Board look forward to Chief Nuesse and Deputy Chief Tilton continuing the proud legacy of exceptional leadership and dedicated service to the Village of New Lenox.
