Holiday Lights & Santa's Mailbox

Our spectacular display of holiday lights will return to the Village Commons this holiday season!

The display will be visible every evening beginning at dusk beginning Saturday, December 6. All are welcome to view the holiday lights - no ticket or admission fee is required!  Making his return to the Village Commons will be the largest illuminated Santa Claus in the United States, standing nearly 40 feet tall and covered in 18,500 LED lights! Several interactive displays are also available throughout the Commons, creating great photo opportunities. And this year, the Village is incredibly excited to share that a larger-than-life friend will join Santa at the entrance to the Commons, ready to delight guests of all ages.

Children who would like to mail a letter to Santa can do so by dropping their envelope into his special mailbox, located directly in front of his statue! In order to receive a response from Kris Kringle himself, your letter must be mailed no later than December 18, 2025 and must include a return address to which the response can be sent.

The Village Commons is located just off of Route 30 (Maple Street) at 101 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox. The lights can be viewed from a vehicle Monday through Friday, but a portion of the road will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays in December to accommodate our Christmas in the Commons activities.

For those looking to view the lights by foot, parking is available around the Veterans Parkway loop as well as behind the Village Hall.
