To help us expedite review of your application and issuance of your permit, A complete application is required before a review can begin.
Generally, a complete submittal includes:
- A complete application(s) signed by the property owner(s).
- All required plans and supporting documents and specifications.
- If the work will be completed by a contractor, the contractor must have a current, valid Contractor Registration with the Village.
Homeowners – If you are the homeowner applying to do work on your own primary residence, you do not have to create a Contractor’s account. At the “Enter Applicant Information” step, check the box that states “I certify that I am the homeowner.” If the owner’s information is incorrect, still check in the box and enter the correct Applicant information and continue.
Homeowners can apply for a building permit. Please note: You will be leaving the Village’s website to complete your application.
Begin the Process with “Step 1: Select a Property”. If your address does not appear, email buildinginspections@newlenox.net and this will be corrected as soon as possible. You may continue when the address is available.
Contractors – If you are a contractor, engineer, or design professional applying for a permit, you will be required to log in to your Contractor’s account before applying for a permit. If you do not have a Contractor’s account, you must first create one before you can apply for a permit. Create your Contractor’s account. Please note: You will be leaving the Village’s website to complete your application.
When you are asked for a webpin, email Building Inspections to request a webpin.
Your email must include the following:
- Company Name
- User Name
- Email set up for the account.
You will be emailed the webpin and/or confirmation that the account has been linked. After your account has been created and linked, you can login with your username and then apply for a permit. You must have a current, valid Contractor Registration with the Village in order to obtain a permit. If you already have a Contractor's account and wish to apply for a permit, please proceed with your application. Please note: You will be leaving the Village’s website to complete your application.
Begin the Process with “Step 1: Select a Property”. If the address does not appear, email Building Inspections and this will be corrected as soon as possible. You may continue when the address is available.
After submitting the application, the applicant should receive a status within two business days that will indicate:
- that enough information was provided to continue with the process and a request for payment will be emailed once the plans are approved and the permit is ready to be issued
- additional information is required before the application can be reviewed, or
