What is the SCC?
The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition is a collaborative, village-supported initiative established in 2008 to promote safety, prevent injuries, and improve quality of life for residents and visitors. Formed as part of New Lenox’s effort to earn and maintain “Safe Community” designation from the National Safety Council and WHO, the coalition identifies local safety priorities, implements prevention programs, and evaluates community preparedness. New Lenox became the 9th U.S. community to receive this designation in 2010 and has been re-accredited since, reflecting its ongoing commitment to community health and safety.
