Amusement Tax
Effective May 1, 2023, by the passage of Ordinance 3043, there is a 5.00% gross receipts tax levied on any event, activity, exhibition, performance, presentation, or show for entertainment purposes, to which an Admission Fee or Charge is imposed.

Home Occupation
A home occupation is an accessory use within your home in which the business is conducted in a manner that does not interrupt the residential character of the neighborhood.

Liquor Licenses
Applicant will make an appointment with the Liquor Control Commissioner to discuss the concept and location of the proposed business.

Temporary Signs
Temporary promotional signs are permitted within the Village of New Lenox; however, these signs require review and approval by the Community Development Department. The following are the various types of permitted temporary promotional signs.

Special Event Temporary Use Application
A special event held within a parking lot of a commercial business requires a Temporary Use for a Special Event permit. A special event is allowed within the C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6 and C-7 Commercial Districts, I-1 Limited Industrial District, and the H Hospital District. Each business shall be permitted a maximum of four (4) special event permits per calendar year.

Video Gaming
Per Village Ordinance 2546 adopted by the Village Board on February 8, 2016 Video gaming is permitted to licensed establishments within the Village, subject to the provisions of this ordinance.
