Liquor Licenses
Liquor License Process for New Businesses
Applicant will make an appointment with the Liquor Control Commissioner to discuss the concept and location of the proposed business.
Subject to approval:
Applicant submits Liquor License Application (PDF) with $250 non-refundable application fee, Dram Shop Liability Insurance, Surety Bond, Property Lease, and the Floor Plan of the premises to the Village Clerk
Applicant submits the Initial Background Check Form (PDF) to the New Lenox Police Department
Applicant is required to appear before the Village Board at a formal meeting for approval of the creation of the liquor license
If approved by the Village Board, the Applicant submits the corresponding Liquor License Class Fee and is granted their liquor license.
Liquor License Process for Annual Renewal
Note: Liquor Licenses are effective from January 1st to midnight on December 31 of each year.
Liquor License renewals are mailed out to existing Liquor License holders in October of each year.
The application along with the required documents such as Dram Shop Liability Insurance, Surety Bond, copy of Renewal Lease (if applicable), and $50 renewal fee are required to be submitted to the New Lenox Village Clerk's Office.
Applicant must submit Renewal Background Check Form (PDF) to the New Lenox Police Department
After the renewal background check has been approved and the corresponding Class Fees have been paid the liquor license will be mailed to the applicant.
