The Village has adopted and enforces the following National and State Codes:

  • 2017 National Electrical Code
  • 2014 Illinois State Plumbing Code
  • 2018 Illinois Accessibility Code
  • 2018 International Property Maintenance Code
  • 2018 International Fuel Gas Code
  • 2018 International Fire Code
  • 2021 International Energy Conservation Code with State of Illinois Amendments (Effective Jan 1, 2024)

Amendments

The Village has also amended certain sections in each of these codes. The amendments are available at the Village Hall.

In an effort to ensure quality standards above and beyond those in the model codes, the Village has also amended by ordinance, certain sections in each of these codes. To keep pace with new materials and improved technology, building codes are routinely amended and any proposed amendments are posted on the Capital Development Board website prior to adoption.
