As of May 1st, 2012, the Village no longer requires the purchase of vehicle stickers.

Some Residents expressed a concern about being ticketed in the City of Chicago or other municipalities for simply not having a vehicle sticker. So the village does offer a sticker for $1, this is not a requirement, just an option available for residents.
